Nozomi Japan was founded in 2014 by Premal Vakil and Devshree Vakil, two passionate travelers and long-term residents of Japan. Originally from India, the two bring together decades of experience in the travel, business, and operations industries.
After working in travel operations in India and moving to Japan, Devshree was inspired to create a travel company to address the growing demand from overseas visitors wanting to visit and experience Japan, particularly the growing demand for custom travel to Japan in the Indian market. From that spark of inspiration, Nozomi Japan was born.
Today, Nozomi Japan operates as an inbound travel agency catering to visitors from all over the world, creating customized journeys and experiences that allow travelers to discover Japan with local expertise and personalized care.

A Certified Travel Services Manager and avid traveler, Premal has visited more than 20 countries and enjoys sharing his wide-ranging insights on Japan’s society, culture, infrastructure, economy, and everyday life with visiting groups.
Devshree Vakil is the driving force behind Nozomi Japan’s inbound tour operations. With a background in commerce and accounting and more than 20 years of experience in the travel industry, she has worked across tour package sales, international airline ticketing, and inbound tour operations in Japan. Today, she personally oversees every stage of tour planning and execution, ensuring that each journey is thoughtfully designed and smoothly operated. A Certified Travel Services Manager, passionate traveler, and natural people person, Devshree enjoys accompanying groups whenever possible and sharing her love and knowledge of Japan with travelers from around the world.
